Hungary's farmers have completed this year's harvest with the exception of a few wet areas of land, bringing in 6.5 million tons of grain, down from 7 million tons in 2005, undersecretary at the Agriculture Ministry Fülöp Benedek said on Monday.

Yields were slightly down from last year. Farmers harvested a little more than 4.4 million tons of wheat planted on 1.082 million hectares. Average yield was 4.13 tons per hectare. A year earlier, farmers brought in 5.1 million tons of wheat from 1.12 million hectares.
