Croatia c/a deficit narrows in Q4

The current account deficit in Croatia narrowed to EUR 375 million in the fourth quarter of 2020 from EUR 614 million in the corresponding period of the previous year, the country's central bank reported.

The goods account gap shrank to EUR 2,078 million from EUR 2,436 million from a year ago, offsetting the deterioration of the services account surplus to EUR 614 million from EUR 1,086 million.

In addition, primary income reversed into a surplus of EUR 200 million from a deficit of EUR 57 million, while the secondary income surplus improved to EUR 889 million from EUR 792 million. Considering the full 2020, the current account switched to a deficit of EUR 379 million from a surplus of EUR 1,520 million in 2019.
