Hungary to close acquisition of Antenna Hungária
The state of Hungary will close the purchase of terrestrial broadcaster Antenna Hungária on May 30, business daily Világgazdaság said on Wednesday.
National Development Ministry (NFM), jointly with National Infocommunications Service Zrt. (NISZ), started the transfer of Antenna Hungária on April 26 and would close on May 30 in line with the expectations. Regardless the transfer the "services will continue uninterrupted," the ministry said.
Antenna Hungária is a public service company of strategic importance and will serve the aims of the government more efficiently under state ownership, the ministry said. No large-scale developments affecting the company's operation are planned at this time, it added.
The ministry announced late in March that NISZ would buy Antenna Hungaria from France's TDF for HUF 56 billion.
