Sziget add The National, Johnny Marr to lineup
The organizers of the summer Sziget Festival have announced American indie rock band The National as the final headliner of this yearʼs edition of what some call "Europeʼs answer to Glastonbury," with several other well-known performers joining the bill.
The new announcement reveals that Tom Odell, Mura Masa, Johnny Marr, Grace Carter, and Khruangbin are also set to perform at Sziget, running this August 7-13. Grammy Award-winning The National joins a headliner bill already containing Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Florence + The Machine, Post Malone, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and Martin Garrix.
Over the years Sziget has played host to some of the biggest names in popular music, including Prince, David Bowie, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Iggy Pop, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Sex Pistols, Dua Lipa and Kendrick Lamar.
Three-day tickets are now on sale starting at EUR 199, the organizers say, with a ticket price increase set for March 7. More details about the festival are available at Szigetfestival.com. The organizers say that preparations are well underway for the 27th edition of the festival, which they expect to be the "biggest and best" to date.
