English guided tour at Apart Collective exhibition

Slovak artists’ cooperative Apart Collective is showcasing an exhibition entitled “Surface Depression and the Emergence of New Habitats” on May 11 at 4 p.m., according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Hosted by Easttopics at Képíró utca 6 in Budapestʼs District 5, the exhibition deals with the growing threat of climate change and its impact on the living environment. The Apart Collective visited the region of upper Nitra to film a short movie concerning coal mining.
The film elaborates on the topic of technological progress and its impact on global warming and on the contrary, the question of geopoetical writing with the planet, not about the planet.
“We must plan, think, recalculate and contextualize our existence within the planetary ecosystem,” Apart says.
Working as a think tank for Eastern European art communities, Easttopics is a genuinely interdisciplinary cooperative whose goal is to draw Eastern contemporary art and the international art scene closer to each other, the press release said.
