Capa Center to open MOME photo exhibition

The Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center is set to open its exhibition entitled "THIRTYTHREE - A New Horizon of Photography" on October 8, looking back at three decades of work by the photography department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in Budapest.

Acknowledging the work accomplished at MOME over 33 years, the exhibition aims at highlighting the institutional direction that gave birth to what Hungarian art professionals informally call the "MOME style." The exhibition revolves around the concept of "horizon," accompanied by a catalogue that features all 46 selected artists.
According to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal, the exhibition "aims to shine a new light on these generations of photographers that allows expectations shaped by the overwhelming tradition of Hungarian photography to open up to a fresh visual language and contemporary approaches."
The exhibition is organized by MOME and the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, while the catalogue is published by Hatje Cantz Verlag – Berlin. Artists include Péter Puklus, Anna Fabricius, Sári Ember, Adél Koleszár, Gábor Arion Kudász, Viola Fátyol, and many more.
The exhibition will run between October 9 and December 9, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. every day, except for public holidays.
The opening will be held at 6 p.m. on October 8, featuring opening remarks by György Bánki.
