Wine exports from Hungary up 9% in H1

Hungary’s wine exports saw a year-on-year 9% increase in the first half of 2015, reaching approximately €40 mln in revenue, the Ministry of Agriculture told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday. In volume terms exports were up 5% at 349,000 hectoliters.

The country reportedly exported €7.3 mln in wine to Germany, €6.4 mln to the Czech Republic,  €6.1 mln to the UK, €4.4 mln to Slovakia and €1.5 mln to Poland. The aforementioned five markets accounted for 64% of total wine exports, MTI reported citing data by the ministry.
