Telenor launches ‘Upgrade Anytime’ program

Competition

The Hungarian unit of telco giant Telenor, as the first in the Hungarian market, is offering an exchange program for smartphones, which enables its postpaid customers to upgrade to a new handset even if their loyalty period has not yet expired, the company announced in a press release today.

According to the press release, Telenor customers no longer have to wait two years to upgrade to a new smartphone, and the company also offers a trade-in option for existing handsets, allowing its customers to get a new mobile phone under even more favorable terms.

“It is perhaps the frequency of new smartphones hitting the market that best reflects the dynamics of mobile communications. As a result, customers are now keen on exchanging their existing handset for a new and more capable mobile phone at an increasingly early date. Committed to providing unlimited freedom to its customers, Telenor introduced its completely tailor-made MyTariff plans a few months ago. Now we launch the Anytime Upgrade program to enable all postpaid consumers to upgrade to any handset any time regardless of their loyalty status,” said Christopher Laska, CEO of Telenor Hungary.
