Competition Office fines, launches procedure against property website operators

Competition

Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH) on Wednesday said it fined and launched a public action against the operators of three property listing websites for unfair business practices and contract conditions.

The sites - ingatlandepo.com, ingatlanbazar.com and ingatlanbazar.net - attracted potential clients by promising free listings for a certain period as well as postings on all three websites.

GVH said the operators disregarded client complaints, exercised contractual conditions that had been invalidated earlier by the court, and continued to use aggressive sales tactics.

GHV fined operator Experient Enterteiment, registered in the Seychelles Islands, HUF 4.5m, and Weltimmo, of Slovakia, HUF 1m.
