Amended law speeds up GVH merger decisions
Under amended legislation which took effect on January 1, Hungary’s Competition Office GVH is required to make a decision on simple mergers within eight days, Hungarian news agency MTI reported late yesterday.
The decision making period for the competition office has been reduced from the previously required 30 days. However, the simplified procedure only applies to cases where the transaction clearly does not restrict competition on the given market, MTI said.
