Wizz Air opens early check-in desk

Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air has opened an early check-in desk at Budapestʼs Ferenc Liszt International Airport, facilitating the process for passengers arriving 2-3 hours prior to their flight, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The airline says that the desk was introduced to cut waiting times in the busy summer months. Operating in Terminal 2/B, the desk opened on May 6, and is set to offer early check-in between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day.

"This year, some 6 million travelers are expected to choose Wizz Air in Hungary, with the majority flying in the summer months," says András Radó, Wizz Airʼs corporate communications manager. "The extended check-in capacity means shorter queues and less waiting for our passengers. The innovation may make traveling more comfortable for everyone, especially helping passengers arriving from the countryside or abroad, who come earlier for this reason."

Radó adds that the new service is free of charge, irrespective of whether the passenger uses Wizz Priority or any other special services. The press release notes that Budapest Airport and Wizz Air are planning to introduce other new services this summer, such as a self-service baggage check-in, in order to further quicken processes.
