Modlin Airport, opened just outside Warsaw last year to service low cost airlines but shut down for runway repairs last December, is for sale, Radio Poland reported. Governor of the local Mazovia province Adam Struzik confirmed the plan of a partial sale of the company Port Lotniczy Mazowsze Warszawa-Modlin Sp. z o.o., adding that, they will definitely be looking for a private investor. “At this point we are talking about a partial sale, but once the runway reopens we are thinking of offering the whole company up for sale,” he told Radio Poland. The airport, opened last July as a hub for Wizz Air and Ryanair. According to the airport’s management the runway repairs will be completed by 18 June and expects to reopen the airport for low-cost airline traffic in July.
