Hungarian road haulage company Waberer’s has closed the acquisition of its Polish peers Link and Link Services for a combined EUR 32.5 million, which the Hungarian company financed from its own resources, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The acquisition was announced in May, and, as planned, Waberer’s said it was financed from the proceedings of the firm’s recent IPO on the Budapest Stock Exchange. The approval for the aquisition was given by the competition authorities of Poland and Germany.

“We continue to see great opportunities in the growing European road transportation industry and believe that our acquisition of Link will reinforce Wabererʼs prime position in the market and strengthen our ability to actively lead the marketʼs consolidation process,” said Wabererʼs CEO Ferenc Lajko, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
