Three big franchise operators leave CBA for Coop

Analysis

Three big regional operators of CBA supermarket franchises are leaving the company for competitor Coop, daily Népszabadság said on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Palóc Nagykereskedelmi, Pólus Coop and CBA-Piliscsoport - three of twelve big regional operators of CBA stores - have decided to leave CBA for Coop, the paper said.

Neither Coop nor the companies wished to comment on the matter.

However, CBA communications director Attila Fodor said the companies left CBA because it recently introduced a deposit system in the interest of suppliers.
