Thai noodle maker projects revenue of €5 mln
The Hungarian unit of Thai instant noodle maker Thai President Foods, based in the industrial park in Esztergom, close to the capital, projects it will make a revenue of more than €5 mln in 2015, head of the plant Gergely Csaba informed Hungarian news agency MTI.
Production was launched a month ago, and the plant currently produces almost 90,000 packets of instant noodles a day in one shift employing 35 workers. The company is planning to add a second shift and double the headcount by April 2015. Should the plant reach full capacity, 350,000 packets or 20 tons a day would be produced by a headcount of more than 140.
Thai President Foods bought a plant at the industrial park in 2013, and they have upgraded and expanded it through a $10 mln investment.
The plant has a quality assurance certificate enabling it to produce house brand products for multinational retail chains.
Their main markets are Germany and Austria, but they are also present in Belgium, Estonia, Finland and Slovenia. Their products will be sold in Hungary as well.
