Tesla, the American automotive company that specializes in electric cars, plans to open a dealership salon in Budapest, near Petőfi Bridge, according to a report on current affairs news portal hvg.hu.

The new unit will probably include service facilities as well. The opening was announced by the website of tesla-universal.com, where visitors holding a Model 3 order number can book a test drive.

The cheapest Model 3 Tesla will arrive in Europe in March, so it seems likely that the opening of the Budapest dealership will coincide with that. The Model S and Model X autos are already available on the local market.

The Hungarian unit will be owned by Universal Leasing Kft., backed by Tesla DACH, which covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland, hvg.hu reported. The closest Tesla service and dealership to date is in Vienna.
