T-Mobile launches HSDPA service in Szeged, Győr

Wireless services company T-Mobile, a unit of incumbent telco Magyar Telekom Nyrt, announced on Wednesday it is now offering High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) services in Szeged and Győr, bringing the number of cities in which the service is available to eight.

The services, using T-Mobile's third-generation (3G) network, are capable of download speeds of up to 1.5 megabits per second. The network's speed is expected to increase significantly in 2007, reaching 10 megabits per second. The services are available in Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, Balatonfüred, Siófok and Balatonalmádi, in addition to Szeged and Győr.
