Student loan outlays reach HUF 16.6 bln in 2015

Outlays of Hungarian student loan provider Diákhitel Központ (DK) reached HUF 16.6 billion in the 2015 calendar year, an annual report released yesterday shows, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Outlays of general purpose loans came to HUF 10.9 bln and went to almost 34,000 students. Outlays of special-purpose loans that cover education costs came to HUF 5.7 bln and were disbursed to 16,000 students. 

Since its launch in 2001, DK has lent approximately HUF 300 bln to more than 370,000 students.

DKʼs total assets stood at HUF 281.1 bln at the end of last year, down 6% from twelve months earlier.

DK issued bonds with a nominal value of HUF 20.5 bln last year.
