State-owned MVM NET seeks bidders to develop mobile network

MVM NET, the telecommunications unit of the state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM), has called a tender to build a nationwide mobile network, the company said yesterday. 

MVM NET won a 450MHz frequency block last spring and has 20 months to complete the nationwide network. MVM puts the cost of the network at HUF 12.8 bln. It has committed to bringing coverage to nine big cities and the network of Hungary's main roads within eight months.
