Spanish year-on-year EU-harmonized inflation rose to a higher-than-expected 5.1% in June, its highest level on record, from a previous record of 4.7% in May, the government said on Friday in a preliminary estimate.

Analysts had expected Spanish inflation to rise to 4.8% as the surge in global oil prices continued to take their toll. (Reuters)
