Road-haulage company Révész Trans purchases peer Lerton Trans - newspaper

Hungarian road-haulage company Révész Trans has purchased sector peer Lerton Trans for an undisclosed price, the business daily Világgazdaság reported on Tuesday.

Lerton Trans, which focuses on the international shipment of goods, has a fleet of 120 trucks and 140 employees.

Révész Holding CEO Zsolt Székely told the newspaper that Révész Trans, which has specialized in the shipment of chemicals, expects the acquisition to generate a 30% increase in group-level revenue.

The paper noted that Lerton was acquired two years earlier by Schneider Global, a Hungary-based investment company owned by Révész.

Révész Trans had post-tax profit of HUF 396m on revenue of HUF 7.12 billion in 2010. Lerton Trans had post-tax profit of HUF 58m on revenue of HUF 1.78 billion in 2010.
