Retail sales edge down 1.3% in July

Retail sales in Hungary edged down 1.3% in July from the same month a year earlier, according to calendar year-adjusted data, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
The year-on-year drop was slightly bigger than the 0.5% fall in June.
Retail sales in July came to HUF 699.5bn at current prices. Food made up 45% of sales, non-food sales 36% and fuel about 19%.
Retail sales slipped 0.3% month-on-month in July, according to data adjusted for calendar year and seasonal effects.
In January-July, retail sales came to HUF 4,278.2bn, down 0.3% from the same period a year earlier.
