Report: Insurers' revenue from premiums climb 4%
The combined revenue from premiums of Hungarian insurers saw a rise of 4.2% to HUF 844.1 bln last year, with revenue from premiums on life insurance policies rising 4.4% to HUF 451.8 bln and general insurance policies climbing 3.9% to HUF 392.3 bln, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) said today.
The number of mandatory vehicle insurance policies increased by 4.8% (229,000), while the number of comprehensive vehicle insurance policies rose by 1.4% (812,000).
Market leader Allianz's revenue from premiums saw a drop of 4.7% to HUF 123 bln, while runner-up Generali saw a rise of 4.3% to HUF 114 bln. Wáberer Hungária showed the most growth, with a revenue jump of 83% to HUF 9.1 bln. CIG Pannónia saw the biggest drop at 22% or HUF 16.7 bln.
