Report: County highway vignettes most popular in Jan-Feb

A year after the new system of highway vignettes was introduced, county highway vignettes proved to be the most popular and accounted for approximately 44% of all vignettes sold during the period of January-February, Hungarian economic daily Világgazdaság reported today.
Sales of county vignettes in the period were up 22% as compared to the same period a year earlier, reaching approximately 983,000, while overall the sales of highway vignettes for all of Hungary were up only 12% at 2,373,000, Lajos Kibédi-Varga, spokesperson for toll operator NÚSZ told the paper.
Revenue from sales of twelve-month vignettes valid for the whole country reached HUF 13 bln in January-February, Hungarian news agency MTI said, adding that county vignettes brought in HUF 5.3 billion in revenue and ten-day vignettes brought in HUF 3.1 bln.
