Danish-owned building materials company Cembrit has begun test production at its plant in Nyergesújfalu, western Hungary, where reconstruction was made possible through an HUF 7 bln investment, managing director Zoltán Bóth told Hungarian news agency MTI.

The plant is expected to turn out 20,000 tons of fibre-cement cladding boards a year, most of which will be exported, chiefly to Scandinavia.

Cembrit had revenue of HUF 472 mln in 2013, MTI said, adding that turnover is expected to increase to HUF 10 bln as production of the fibre-cement boards begins and to HUF 20 bln if a second production line is installed, the managing director said.
