OTP Bank was the only gainer among the blue chips, climbing 1.32% to HUF 6,545. Turnover of the share reached HUF 2.9 bln or about 40% of the HUF 7.1 bln session total.
Oil and gas company MOL dropped 0.23% to HUF 17,510 on turnover of HUF 1.2 bln.
Drugmaker Richter slipped 1.00% to HUF 5,650 on turnover of HUF 2.5 bln.
Magyar Telekom dipped 0.22% to HUF 447 on turnover of HUF 0.5 bln.
The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX index rose 0.27% to 1,713.09.
Elsewhere in the region, Warsawʼs WIG 20 rose 1.63% and the Prague PX advanced 0.78%.
Western Europeʼs biggest indices were mixed before the end of trade on Monday. Londonʼs FTSE 100 was up 0.55%, Frankfurtʼs DAX was down 0.19% and the CAC 40 in Paris fell 0.52%.
Norbert Cinkotai, an analyst for KBC Equitas, said on public television that the attempted putsch in Turkey had a muted effect on markets.
