MTel’s 4G coverage reaches 95% in Hungary

Telco

Magyar Telekom, the Hungarian unit of German telco giant Deutsche Telekom, has increased nationwide outdoor coverage of its 4G mobile internet service to 95% in the country, the company told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

The increased coverage is the result of “intensive development” of the firm’s mobile network, Magyar Telekom said, adding that it is planning to expand 4G coverage to 97% by the end of the year.

The number of 4G mobile service subscribers has exceeded 740,000 since the service was launched in January 2012, the firm said. The 4G data traffic shows steady and stable growth, Magyar Telekom added.
