MOL launches branded mobile service

Hungarian oil and gas company MOL yesterday announced the launch of its own branded mobile telephone service, which will rely on the network of Magyar Telekom for the service. The launch fits MOL's strategy of expanding the services available at its petrol stations.

MOL and Magyar Telekom signed a strategic agreement in June to cooperate in sales, retail sales, retail energy sales and the area of IT, MOL representatives stated, with the agreement containing a declaration of intent on expanding retail and wholesale services and the possibility of further cooperation in commercial activities and the area of IT/telecommunications services.

Both companies are considering cooperation in other countries in the region.
