The southern Hungarian city of Mohács, on the river Danube, is planning to finish construction of a HUF 5 billion commercial port by the middle of 2019, later than the initial plan for the end of 2017, Mayor József Szekó told Hungarian news agency MTI.

Preparations for calling the tender for construction are currently underway and the mayor expects a general contractor to be chosen by August 2017 at the latest. The mayor expects work on the building of the port to start in 2018 and finish by mid-2019.
The costs of the project are being supported by European Union funding of HUF 4.75 bln, MTI reported.
