Sales were only slightly under the HUF 141 bln in MÁVʼs 2014 audited consolidated P+L statement posted on the companyʼs website.

MÁVʼs reimbursements from the state came to HUF 217 bln last year, Szikszay Badonfai said.


Pre-tax profit reached HUF 39.9 bln last year, said Chairman-CEO Ilona Dávid.


The company had HUF 98.7 bln in debt at the end of the year, she added. This year, MÁV would like to repay HUF 36 bln of its debt, and it has already paid off HUF 16.5 bln through its own resources, she said.

Capital expenditures reached HUF 123 bln, said deputy-CEO László Pál. Investments were funded with MÁVʼs own resources and European Union funding, he added.


MÁV-Start, the passenger unit of the group, had revenue of HUF 36.6 bln last year, down 1.3%, said CEO András Csepke. MÁV-Start received HUF 145 bln in state reimbursements, he added.
