Family-owned Hungarian poultry company Master Good inaugurated a HUF 2.1 bln expansion at its base in Kisvárda yesterday, owner Lászó Bárány told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

The investment, which MTI said was supported by a "grant" of HUF 250 mln, turned the base into Central and Eastern Europe's biggest poultry processing facility. Bárány added that the plant is planning to double output in the next five years, selling more than 60 million birds.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, participating at the inauguration, said the success of the operation is proof that families who want to do business, can strengthen Hungary's economy. He added that the expansion was one of just five similar plants in all of Europe.

Master Good accounts for one-third of Hungary's poultry output. The number of workers at Master Good exceeds 1,300. The company had a revenue of HUF 49.3 bln last year, and is hoping for a turnover of more than HUF 101 bln by 2018.
