Leier Hungaria Kft, the Hungarian unit of construction materials manufacturer Leier International, generated revenue of HUF 17bn in 2011, up HUF 1.5bn, CEO Andor Komlos told MTI on Monday.

Mr Komlos noted that Leier Hungaria exceeded its revenue target of HUF 16bn last year, attributing the company’s better-than-expected turnover to a rise in exports.

The company exports a significant portion of its production to Austria, Romania and Slovakia.

The Leier Hungaria CEO said that the company had been profitable in 2011, but had not yet calculated its bottom line for the year. The company posted after-tax profit of HUF 400m in 2010.

The company employs 750 workers at its nine plants in Hungary, the last of which it opened in the city of Gyor (NW Hungary) last year.
