Insurers' premiums revenue slips 5% in Q1-Q3
Hungarian insurers' revenue from premiums fell 5% to HUF 593.1 billion in Q1-Q3 from the same period a year earlier, Econews calculated based on fresh data published by the Association of Hungarian Insurers (MABISZ).
Revenue from premiums from life insurance fell 8% to HUF 297.4 billion. Revenue from premiums on general insurance policies edged down 1.5% to HUF 295.7 billion. Mandatory vehicle insurance policies generated revenue from premiums of HUF 68.6 billion, down 12.6%. Revenue from premiums on comprehensive vehicle insurance policies were down 3% at HUF 54.1 billion.
Allianz was market leader in Q1-Q3, collecting 18.3% of revenue from premiums. Generali-Providencia was runner-up with market share of 14.25%. Groupama and Aegon were nearly tied for third with market shares of around 10%.
