The surplus on the trade balance was up €235.9 mln in July as compared to the same month a year earlier. Exports climbed 5.4% to €7.737 bln during the period and imports rose 2.3% to €7.063 bln.
In January-July, the trade surplus reached €4.880 bln, up by €1.217 bln from the same period last year. Exports rose 7.6% to €52.874 bln and imports increased by 5.5% to €47.994 bln.
Approximately 78% of Hungaryʼs imports came from other European Union countries in July and 79% of exports went to EU member states.
