Hungary to launch HUF 50 bln program in Serbia
The Hungarian government is expected to launch a HUF 50 billion economic development program in the Serbian region of Vojvodina, which has a large ethnic Hungarian population, Levente Magyar, state secretary for economic diplomacy, said today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
The scheme, which aims to support farm exports, comprises HUF 30 bln in credit and HUF 20 bln in grant money, the news agency reported.
The program is to be implemented through cooperation with the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians. The program would span a five-year period and fits well with other development plans in Serbia, Vojvodina and Hungary, Head of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians István Pásztor said, according to MTI.
