Hungary-based agribusiness Herbro yesterday inaugurated a HUF 1 bln technology investment at its hatchery in Hernád, near Budapest, Hungary’s Ministry of Agriculture reported.

The ministry said that the company paid HUF 400 mln of the total cost from its own resources, while grant money covered HUF 245 mln and the remaining costs were provided through credit from the National Bank of Hungaryʼs (MNB) Funding for Growth Scheme.

The technology investment has more than doubled the capacity of the hatchery to over 26 million chicks a year. Headcount at the hatchery rose from 20 to 25 as a result of the investment.
