Graboplast to build HUF 2 bln flooring plant next year

Hungarian specialized flooring maker Graboplast will build a HUF 2 billion plant at its base in Győr next year, Chairman-CEO Péter Jancsó told Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

Graboplast has already won a HUF 800 million grant for the plant, which will turn out mainly wood-plastic composite (WPC) flooring for outdoor use, Jancsó said. The headcount will rise by 50 as a result, he added.

Graboplast employs about 700 people at its plants in Győr, Tatabánya and Kecskemét.

This year, Graboplast expects profits to climb more than 20% as revenue rises by 2-4%, Jancsó added.

Graboplast had after-tax profit of HUF 467 mln on revenue of HUF 18 bln last year. More than 90% of its products are exported.
