Former barracks transformed into hotel

Hungarian waste management business TAPPE Szállítási és Feldolgozó Kft. has opened a HUF 560 mln, three-star hotel at the site of a former barracks in Békéscsaba, managing director Csaba Gyurkó told Hungarian news agency MTI.

The new Arcanum Hotel offers 24 rooms and a restaurant that can serve 150 people. The investment was supported by a HUF 280 mln European Union and state grant.

The waste management company bought the barracks in 2007. TAPPE had a revenue of HUF 1.3 bln, last year.
