Few apply for solar panel subsidy

Hungary's National Development Ministry has approved applications worth HUF 550 million for support to households to build solar panels, one-fifth of the funding available for the purpose, the daily Magyar Nemzet reported on Wednesday.

The sum approved will support 886 such projects, the daily said.

The ministry has extended the deadline for applications for the second time, until May 15, as a result of the support remaining for building solar panels.

The subsidy is maximum HUF 800,000 per apartment, and is available to private persons or residential buildings with at most 12 apartments.
