Ecostat projects 6.1% twelve-month CPI in February 2007

Ecostat, the research arm of Hungary's Central Statistics Office (KSH), expects inflation to pick up to a twelve-month 6.1% by February 2007, according to its latest Mikroszkóp report, which offers four-month projections for some of Hungary's main macroeconomic indicators.
Ecostat expects producer prices to increase 7.4% year on year in February 2007. Industrial production is projected to increase 8.7% during the period, while retail trade volume will rise 3.7%.
Ecostat says domestic industrial sales will rise 6.1%, slower than export growth, which is expected to reach 10.8%.
Gross average wages are expected to rise 6% year n year in February 2007, rising 6.8% in the private sector and 4% in the public sector.
Ecostat puts the BUX, the Budapest Stock Exchange's main index, between 19,000 and 23,000 by year-end.
