Eagle Ottawa launches HUF 9 bln expansion in Hungary

U.S. automobile interior producer Eagle Ottawa is investing HUF 9 bln in its Hungarian base in order to double capacity and expand its product palette, Eagle Ottawa Hungary managing director Bryn Kahrl announced at a press conference today.
The expansion is expected to create 500 additional jobs at full capacity.
The preparatory phase of the expansion of the 30,000 sqm production hall has already started and construction is scheduled to be wound up by 2017, Kahrl said adding that the company will stitch seat covers for high-end carmakers in the new hall.
Eagle Ottawa Hungary had net income of HUF 5.8 bln on revenue of HUF 26.9 bln in its 2012/13 business year, Hungarian news agency MTI said citing public records. Most revenue came from exports.
