E-commerce booms in Hungary

Though electronic commerce reaches only 3% in Hungary as compared to Austria’s 9%, the growth of e-commerce has been greater than traditional commerce for the past years, CBRE reported yesterday.

As opposed to Romanian or Czech buyers, Hungarians tend to use the internet more for gathering information rather than making purchases. Online shops made a revenue of HUF 217 bln in 2013.
