Debt-ridden meat producer Hunnia on the block again

Telco

Liquidator company Vectigalis Zrt has put assets of debt-ridden Keszthely-based meat producer Hunnia Húsipari Termékgyártó Kft up for sale again, daily Napi Gazdaság reports.

Hunnia owes more than HUF 1 billion to creditors. Vectigalis is asking HUF 350 million for Hunnia's real estate portfolio, the same as in a previous auction.

Hunnia, which had annual revenue of about HUF 3 billion in its prime in the mid-2000s, fell on hard times in 2006 as production and energy crisis crept higher and credit dried up in 2008 until it was forced to shut down production and hive off its 118 workers in 2009.

Bids can be submitted until August 22, Márta Péter of Vectigalis said.
