Daimler plant rail line goes on stream in Kecskemét

A 906m spur line connecting a big plant German carmaker Daimler is building in the Hungarian city of Kecskemét to the main rail line was unveiled on Tuesday.
The HUF 450m spur line was completed on time in less than nine months, said Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary logistics director Stefan Putzlocher.
The spur line was built by MÁVGÉP, a unit of state-owned Hungarian railway company MÁV.
MÁV deputy-CEO László Mosoczi said deliveries on the line would start in March 2012. Rail will be the means for most deliveries to and from the plant, he added.
