Compensation payments begin for Buda-Cash, Hungária investors
Hungaryʼs Investor Protection Fund (Beva) on Friday announced the start of compensation payments for almost 4,000 clients of the failed independent brokerages Buda-Cash Brókerház and Hungária Értékpapír.
Beva will pay investors whose savings were lost at Buda-Cash HUF 6.8 billion in compensation. Former Hungária Értékpapír clients will get HUF 191 million.
The investors are eligible for up to the forint equivalent of €20,000 in compensation. The compensation covers 100% of the loss up to HUF 1 mln and 90% over that threshold.
Buda-Cash and Hungária Értékpapír went under liquidation last spring, after they came under investigation for suspected criminal activity.
