BUX opens down 0.4%

The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index opened Friday trade down 0.36% at 17,307.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Friday’s opening bell:
Oil and gas company MOL was down 1.30% at HUF 18,160;
Magyar Telekom was down 0.40% at HUF 504;
Drug company Richter was down 0.36% at HUF 36,000;
OTP Bank was up 0.81% at HUF 3,120 after reporting before the open of markets that its third-quarter after-tax profit rose a better-than-expected 14% yr/yr to HUF 35.2bn.
On Thursday, the BUX closed up 3.83% to 17,370.26 on a turnover of 20.06bn on news that Hungary’s government was in talks with the International Monetary Fund regarding taking out insurance that would boost investor confidence in the country without increasing state debt.
