BUX opens down 0.2%, blue chips mixed

The Budapest Stock Exchange's main BUX index opened down 0.23% at 17,724.81 on Tuesday.

The bourse's blue chips opened mixed with OTP Bank opening down 0.96% at HUF 3,520 and Magyar Telekom dropped 0.19% to HUF 527, while oil and gas company MOL advanced 0.29% to HUF 17,350 and drug maker Richter gained 0.20% to HUF 35,620.

Analysts interviewed by MTI said expected to see a positive opening after global markets rose on Monday but said the mood can easily change.

Gergely Gabler of Erste noted that US futures indices were slightly in the red in the morning. He added, however, that several US company reports were above expectations.

Bertalan Nagy of Equilor Befektetési said that several stocks reached technical levels and much would depend how they can continue.

The BUX closed up 1.97% at 17,766.22 on Monday, on turnover of HUF 12.9bn.
