BUX gains 0.8% closing at 25-week high

The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index finished Friday trade up 0.76% to its highest close since August 5, 2011 at 19,286.15.

The BUX advanced 144.87 points on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 16.07bn, fluctuating in a 2.09% range between an intra-session low of 18,988.84 shortly after the BSE’s 9:00 a.m. opening bell at and an intra-session high of 19,385.12 at 12:45 p.m.

BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Friday’s closing bell:

Oil and gas company MOL gained 2.97% to HUF 19,565 on a turnover of HUF 2.23bn;

OTP Bank advanced 0.15% to HUF 4,125 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 12.5bn, or 77.8% of the BSE’s total Friday trade;

Drug company Richter gained 0.14% to HUF 36,600 on a turnover of HUF 421m;

Magyar Telekom lost 1.46% to HUF 541 on a turnover of HUF 553m;

The BSE Big Four generated 97.7% of the exchange’s composite Friday turnover.
