BUX gains 0.1%, skipping into positive territory at closing bell
The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index closed Monday trade up 0.10%, jumping into positive territory just before closing bell after languishing in the red throughout the entire session.
The BUX gained 18.15 points on a light turnover of HUF 6.5bn as the continued closure of markets in the United States for a national holiday prompted many BSE investors to remain idle.
The BUX fluctuated in a narrow, 1.1% range between an intra-session low of 17,137.05 shortly after 9:30 a.m. and intra-session high at the index’s closing mark of 17,368.39.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Monday’s closing bell:
OTP Bank gained 0.53% to HUF 3,397 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 5.27bn;
Oil and gas company MOL gained 0.29% to HUF 17,455 on a turnover of HUF 660m;
Drug company Richter finished unchanged at HUF 35,900 on a turnover of HUF 153m;
Magyar Telekom lost 0.76% to HUF 519 on a turnover of HUF 321.
