Bosch completes HUF 7 bln product development
German engineering firm Bosch wound up a HUF 7 billion project to develop products that will increase passenger safety and energy efficiency, CEO Javier Gonzalez Pareja said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
The Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) and the University of Miskolc were involved in the project which received a HUF 2 bln grant from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund.Â
Bosch developed equipment for self-driving cars, including accumulator sensors and voltage controllers for reducing fuel consumption of vehicles, Oliver Schatz, head of Boschʼs research center in Budapest said.
According to Javier Gonzalez Pareja, Bosch is committed to Hungary, and spent HUF 37 bln in the country last year on research and development and HUF 64 bln on investments.
The Hungarian unitʼs CEO said Bosch expects further growth this year, especially in the area of automotive technology. He noted that the companyʼs research center in the capital employs more than 1,500 engineers.
